Montreal's Grammy award winning indie-rock collective have grown from critically acclaimed cult heroes to stadium sensations across their three albums, with 2011's 'The Suburbs' picking up 'Best International Album' award at the Brits. Their now established baroque sound, embracing violin, cello, accordion, etc. looks set to take a change of direction with new material being produced by LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy. Compared to Talking Heads meets David Bowie, their new material has been described as sounding "unexpectedly dance-oriented, due to the upbeat rhythms of conga drums and electronic flourishes alongside their most poppy sounds."

Bought their first album on the strength of a rave review without having heard them and it was terrific - 2nd and 3rd albums have just got better!
Missed them in smaller early venues but concert in December 2008 at SECC was the best I've been to there.
