The Troggs were back in the limelight after the success of the cover version of 'Love is All Around' by Wet Wet Wet (for which Reg Presley received three Ivor Novello Awards) but the band initially burst onto the '60s pop scene with 'Wild Thing', which remains one of the most influential records of British pop music. The band have always been remembered for this '60s anthem, but it is just one of their many UK hits, including 'With A Girl Like You', 'I Can't Control Myself', 'Anyway That You Want Me' and 'Give It To Me'. Still featuring founder member and guitarist Chris Britton and bassist Peter Lucas (who first joined the band in 1974) and drummer Dave Maggs, who has been with the band over 25 years. Singer Reg Presley sadly passed away in 2013, but the band now features guest vocalist Chris Allen, formerly of the Denny Laine band and The Animals.

I remember seeing The Troggs live at the Royal Agricultural Show at Stoneleigh, I think it was, in around 1966, it was fantastic. I was about 6 years old, it was a school trip to the show, I really wish I could remember more about it. My biggest memory is… (cont'd) Malcolm from Burbage
