Frank Turner + The Sleeping Souls
After his acclaimed performance on the main stage at Sonisphere festival in Knebworth Park earlier this year, Frank Turner heads out on his latest UK tour with The Sleeping Souls in September 2014.
Frank's current album, ‘Tape Deck Heart’, reached number one on the iTunes chart, number two on the Official Chart and also entered the Top Ten on the US iTunes Chart in its week of release, underlining his arrival as a crossover DIY star. ‘Tape Deck Heart’ is his most expertly crafted yet, an album pockmarked with years of relentless touring and prolific writing, where Turner sounds at his most accomplished without sandpapering down his raw edge, spinning narrative tales through rousing, adrenaline-veined anthems.
Former singer for hardcore outfit Million Dead turned folk troubador, Frank Turner has seen his fame flourish through, essentially, the old fashioned route - hard work, continuous gigging and word of mouth. His singer-songwriter solo career steadily grew from cult status to an arena filler, eventually playing London's O2 and Wembley Stadium.
It has been an eventful decade for the troubadour from Winchester who now resides in Holloway, North London. Turner released his debut album, “Sleep is For The Week”, in 2007 and has been on a stunning upward curve ever since. He is now one of the country’s most cherished songwriters, a man who plays the biggest venues in the land and whose records reach the higher echelons of the charts but who has never lost sight of his original MO: write, record, tour, repeat.
His blend of folk-punk-rock and powerful lyrics has seen him continue playing to an already devoted fanbase, but he picks up new fans with every festival appearance and tour.
