The Magic Of A Thousand Strings

Unique in Europe, the National Youth Harp Orchestra has thirty of the most talented young harpists from across the UK. It was founded in 2002 by their Director, professional harpist Luisa Cordell, to provide a training platform and a wealth of opportunities for budding harpists. It regularly performs at prestigious events and concert venues across the UK.

Highlights include The Barbican, Royal Albert Hall, St John’s Smith Square, Wakefield Cathedral and most recently Cadogan Hall and St George’s Chapel Windsor. It has undertaken many tours to Europe including Belgium, France, Portugal, Germany and The Netherlands. In summer 2016 it will visit Budapest. It has featured on BBC Television including Blue Peter and Songs of Praise and reached an early heat of Britain’s Got Talent..

The concert repertoire encompasses all styles of music from Classical and Celtic traditional tunes to Contemporary Music and Film Scores. The world-renowned harpist Marissa Robles has praised their 'simply beautiful and passionate playing'.
