Nathan Caton

Nathan Caton appearing at this event

Nathan is a young black British comic, gigging on both the mainstream and black comedy circuit. His set is highly observational, influenced by his culture and upbringing, and also coming from a young person's outlook on life, from the well-known Nigerian traffic warden and the always-disciplining West-Indian mother, to MTV's Pimp my Ride. 'Excellent story-telling skills keep the crowd easily entertained' (Three Weeks). ‘Caton is probably the most exciting young black comic on the scene’ (Fest Magazine). 'Caton's a slick performer with an unbeatable stage attitude and the confident air of someone much more experienced' (Chortle). 'Compelling, well-observed stand-up... He specialises in laidback, on-the-nose material, chopping down fools of all colours, both in day-to-day life and in the media' (The Guardian). Nathan Caton was named in Ents24's top 20 hardest-working comedians of 2015.

Steve Hall

Steve Hall appearing at this event

Probably best known as being a third of the We Are Klang sketch group with Greg Davies and Marek Larwood, Steve Hall is a superb stand-up in his own right and has provided support for Russell Howard on three of his sell-out national tours. Steve has been called a Steve Coogan 'lookalike and soundalike', which makes sense as they are distantly related through a convoluted web of Irish cousins. Hecklers tend to think Steve looks more like Mr Bean. Daily Telegraph Comedy Awards 2003 and BBC Comedy Awards 2003 runner-up. 'The most intelligent stand-up you've never heard of' (GQ) 'His phrasing is joyous and choice of words close to poetic' (Metro) 'Deadpan brilliance' (Time Out) 'Wonderfully misanthropic' (Sunday Times) ''Russell Howard's fine tour support' (The Times) 'A lovely, friendly, thoroughly entertaining show' (Chortle) 'This is stand-up as it should be: snappy and smart, occasionally nasty, and always funny' (The List).
