Never miss another 'Levellers' show
"Brighton folk/punk band Levellers celebrated the 25th anniversary of the release of their second full-length, and now classic, album Levelling the Land in 2016 with a huge sold out tour of the UK. They are now working on a new album and touring the UK and Europe.
Their platinum-selling 1991 album Levelling The Land features the hit singles One Way, 15 Years and Far From Home plus The Game, Liberty Song, Sell Out, Another Man’s Cause, Riverflow, Boatman and the incendiary Battle Of The Beanfield. During the summer of 1991 Levelling The Land redefined the UK’s musical landscape. Levellers provided the soundtrack for a society fed up with the twin evils of Thatcherite politics, and the post-80’s, pre-grunge musical wasteland.
Emerging victorious through the ups and downs of label deals, the spats with the music press and the wear and tear of touring, Levellers are still going strong after nearly 30 years in the game. They run their own label, have their own studio and their own festival."
Info provided by the Event Organiser
Brighton's seminal folk-rock outfit formed by Mark Chadwick and Jeremy Cunningham in the late 80s who take their name from the 17th century radical democracy movement. Over the years they've become a staple on festival bills with their crowd pleasing blend of fiddles, guitars and biting political lyrics. Their 14 top 40 singles include the perennial anthems 'One Way', 'Hope Street' and 'What A Beautiful Day', which inspired the name for their annual curated music festival; 'Beautiful Days'.
