Family Gamelan

Join expert gamelan tutor Saj Collyer and learn to play the Dartington Balinese Gamelan Orchestra – a beautiful collection of tuned metallic percussion from the island of Bali in Indonesia. Played by up to 22 people, the set consists of xylophone type instruments, gongs and drums.

The sound of the gamelan is rich, shimmering and mesmerising, and playing the gamelan is both a rewarding musical and social activity. Classes can inspire self-confidence, improve co-ordination and listening skills, and are also a great chance to try something new in a relaxed and friendly environment.
