The Magic Of Christmas

As you begin to prepare for the most magical time of the year, ensure you take in the traditional visit to the theatre and book tickets for the all-new family variety show, ‘The Magic of Christmas’ at the Babbacombe Theatre in Torquay.

Music, Magic and Mirth in all its guises is what ‘The Magic of Christmas’ promises. Slight of hand, comedic classics, hits of yesteryear and today are interspersed cleverly to deliver a show that has pace and will leave you wanting more.

Andy Oakley returns as the ever popular headlining act with even more side-splitting sketches that will make you laugh louder than ever. He is joined on stage by other artistes instantly recognisable to Babbacombe Theatre regulars, including great comedy magician Peter Baffles, a master of illusion and a firm favourite with audiences across the globe, with even more tricks up his sleeve he will amuse and amaze you. Additionally, we welcome back the superlative talents of Paul Cobley and Lisa Walker. Individually their vocal ability is memorable however when you hear them sing together you will be totally captivated. Optimising every show tune, chart topping hit and classical song will be Danze Fantastique. They have an adept ability to interpret the content set by choreographer Sadie Oliver with flair whilst engaging with the musical arrangements of Pete Leonard.

Gifted Lily Laight, although still only 14 is a seasoned performer. She appeared with the original cast of Matilda on London’s West End, has appeared on TV in Doc Martin and in 2014 hit the headlines worldwide when the movie, Love Rosie went on release. Lily has been performing at this venue since she was only 8 and this show will mark her ninth production on the Babbacombe boards!

Inspirational lighting, costume design, choreography and musical arrangements are without exception the icing on the Christmas cake in The Magic of Christmas. After all, the theatre experience is never just about the performance.

Christmas newcomers this yuletide season are Josh Cousins, although only 16, his natural ability and charisma makes him the perfect choice for this cast as do the adorable, Sproggles 4 little girls aged from 5 – 11 years.

All the cast are inviting you to come along to join in with the fun and frolics as we celebrate the yuletide season with Christmas classics, Disney favourites, a bit of Scottish skulduggery, pop picks old and new but most of all to enjoy some good old Christmas cheer with the ‘The Magic Of Christmas’.
