SuperStars is a word that conjures up an image of celebrities, who are usually regarded in high esteem and as being inspirational. Therefore, a show of that name, you’d expect to see something that was extraordinary and utterly FAB-U-LOUS!

‘Fabulous’ is the word most used in reviews on TripAdvisor, Google and on our social media pages for our annual seasonal shows. Just as is the comment, “Steve Laister – he should be on the TV” was another during 2019.

Well he may not be on the television, yet, but what the show’s Producer/Director, Colin Matthews can promise for 2020, is that Steve will once again be doing what he does best… ENTERTAIN YOU, as he headlines in the new show, SuperStars at the Babbacombe Theatre every Tuesday & Wednesday from 11th February - 21st October at 8.15pm.

It takes a star to make a legend and this new show will feature some of the most iconic stars of music, stage and screen, performed by a multi-talented cast, that will embrace the comedic talents of Del Boy, Stavros Flatley and Benny Hill. Perform opulent songs from stunning movie soundtracks and/or stage shows with numbers from, Les Misérables, 9-5, Hairspray, Jersey Boys, The Blues Brothers and Burlesque.

Other legendary performers in the world of popular music who have impressed and inspired us across the decades are, Nina Simone, Tina Turner, Tony Christie, The Spice Girls, Dolly Parton, The Carpenters and Robbie Williams. Some of their showstopping, award winning songs for which they are renowned for, are seamlessly interspersed throughout this fast-moving family variety show. You will also be introduced to some new unique comedic characters, never seen before, but who will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression, courtesy of the 'Sir Norman Wisdom's Award for ‘Comedy Excellence' winner Steve, who is as equally poised as a singer as he is a comedian.

Also hitting the high notes in a show that celebrates celebrity, is West End Vocalist, Paul Cobley, multi-talented Wayne Martin, singing sensation Lindsey Collard, star of, ‘The Voice’ Holly Cosgrove and the Nicest Kids in Town, Kidz & Co., who are 5 little girls that will make you smile, as they share their dreams with you of super stardom in the future.

Famously all great performers, rely on their entourage to ensure that they always look and sound their best, and with Danze Chique, a bevy of gorgeous young ladies embellishing the Babbacombe boards, the exciting choreography of international Choreographer Wesley Waring accompanied by the musical accompaniment and orchestrations of Musical Director, Pete Leonard everyone will undoubtedly be set to impress the fans this season. Yes, even the audience get to play their part, fans of the super stars!
