A Few Good Men
Originally written as a play, A Few Good Men ran for 500 performances on Broadway before Aaron Sorkin’s screenplay was memorably translated into film in 1992.
A master of biting dialogue and adversarial gameplay, Aaron Sorkin (West Wing, The Social Network, The American President) found his voice in this military courtroom drama, in which sullen rookie naval attorney Daniel Kafee is pitted against the steely and untouchable Colonel Jessep. Add into the mix: a self-appointed idealistic female co-attorney, two dead marines, Jessep’s scripturally hidebound lieutenant, and a sprinkling of bewildered condemned recruits. This thought-provoking, elegantly crafted legal thriller leaves us asking the question: Can you handle the truth?
