The Crucible
The Sixth Form are proud to present Arthur Miller’s The Crucible. A dark and chilling play exploring the events leading up to the 1692 Salem witch trails.
Based on true people and events, the story revolves around the accused and the accusing, illuminating this tight, highly dogmatic society which falls apart when irrational fear replaces thoughtful reasoning.
In this story, which is both history and metaphor, we experience a universal truth when we recognise that their succumbing to fear is actually far more dangerous than the manufactured threat perpetrated upon them.
