Jim Jones & The Righteous Mind

Jim Jones & The Righteous Mind appearing at this event

Front man Jim Jones’s distinctive recording history has spanned several incarnations including The Jim Jones Revue, Black Moses and Thee Hypnotics. With The Righteous Mind Jim's musical vision expands into new vistas encompassing not only the blistering garage rock 'n' roll The Revue were lauded for but also dark cinematic soundscapes, psyche tinged country blues, gospel and "heavy lounge." Contemporary influences are also evident with a more eclectic, experimental approach giving the music dynamism and relevance. Playing from the heart and shooting from the hip, Jim remains an elemental, innovative force in rock 'n' roll.

LOOM

LOOM appearing at this event

A four piece band from Leamington Spa. If you thought Savages‘ Jehnny Beth had the iciest stare in new music, think again. LOOM‘s Tarik Badwan has the art of gloweringly eyeballing crowds perfected already, making the aforementioned first lady of noir-punk seem about as scary as your nan. Debut single ‘Bleed On Me‘ encapsulates that brooding terror in its Misfits-by-Nirvana judders and yelps, a dark, sinister but exhilarating introduction to a very promising new band.

Lorca

Lorca appearing at this event

A screaming riot of killer tunes, twisted guitars and pulsating bass with dirty synths and disco-punk beats stolen from the gutter provinces. 'Lorca take the electro-punk sleaze image and give it a much needed punch; crashing shimmering guitars and digital sorcery into devilish rock'n'roll with starling effect. If late 80's/early 90's dance spent time pretending to be bad ass action heroes, then this may well be the machismo disco it'd turn into'- Disorder Magazine.
