“Keeping Up Appearances”, the classic BBC comedy, adapted for stage by Roy Clarke with this original adventure for Hyacinth Bucket, (pronounced “Bouquet”).
Featuring many of the well-loved characters from the TV series, this is guaranteed to cure the winter blues. “Fans of the original TV series will not be disappointed by this hugely enjoyable production, and for that matter, neither will anyone else.” British Theatre Guide.
“If you loved the television series, you will have an hilarious night at the theatre.”
Hyacinth’s long-suffering neighbour Emmet is directing a murder mystery for the local amateur dramatic society and is determined to go to extreme lengths to keep Hyacinth out of the play. When Hyacinth hears that the part of Lady Malvern is yet to be cast, she is determined that nothing will stop her from getting the role. Meanwhile, much to Hyacinth’s dismay, the cast mainly consists of her family members from whom she would rather disassociate herself. Is this play a disaster in the making?
Roy Clarke is the comic master behind several of Britain’s best-loved comedies, including “Last of The Summer Wine” and “Open All Hours”
