The Excess

Benji Kirkpatrick is one third of acclaimed ‘bloke folk’ trio, Faustus and was a key member of the recently disbanded folk big band and BBC Award winners Bellowhead.

Benji's latest project The Excess, is an acoustic rock trio featuring Pete Flood (Bellowhead) on drums and Pete Thomas on Double and Electric Bass. Whilst focusing on Benji's own song writing skills for the majority of the material, the trio also acknowledge a few of their influences with songs by Jimi Hendrix and Richard Thompson.

The power of the trio also allow Benji to explore new arrangements of instrumentals, whilst they're a sensitive enough bunch to allow a few beautiful ballads too.
