Världens Band

A 15 piece trans-global roots fusion supergroup from three continents and eight countries, Världens Band were first brought together in 2012 by the Swedish folk act Kolonien as an experiment, creating a new big band of folk music with people from different cultural and economic backgrounds. With music as the common language, the band have blossomed into an explosive orchestra where Swedish melodies meet Scottish reels, English guitar accompanies Indian classical song, Galician pipes play Balkan melodies and the Senegalese kora blends with Mediterranean rhythms. With their catchy mix of music from India, Sweden, Senegal, Tunisia, Israel, England, Scotland and France, Världens Band have conducted highly acclaimed tours of Europe, bringing a unique and exciting blend of culture, personality and style to create some of the most uplifting music around.
