Week 53 - Teentalitarianism - Night Walks With Teenagers
Conceived by Darren O'Donnell
Directed by Jana Eiting, Annalise Prodor, Feroz Syed, Kathy Vuu
Produced by Eva Verity, Tina Fance
Featuring young performers from local schools.
Teentalitarianism is a series of 'social-specific' performances that invites an adult audience to enter a very different world, a world where the tables are turned, and the teens are in charge. Mammalian Diving Reflex will work with a group of local teenagers to create a series of performances, events and interventions that will take over an area of Salford, creating a teen-infused environment where the youth rule the roost.
More information on the specific events below. We are delighted to announce that there will be an allocation of free tickets for Under 19s for all performances.
This presentation of Teentalitarianism has been made possible in part thanks to grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council.
Nightwalks with Teenagers:
Created with local youth, who plan, design and lead public walks through the city at night, exploring the neighbourhood with members of the community. ‘Nightwalks’ is focused on the power of walking together, bringing together teens and adults to have a unique social experience related to a shared place and time, where everyone can let loose, and silences offer moments for contemplation.
There will be a limited allocation of Pay What You Decide tickets for all productions, more details to be announced in Spring 2018.
