Former Bromley waiter turned heartbreaker, Matt proved he's got the X Factor. Mentored by Nicole Scherzinger and championed at Boot Camp by Calvin Harris, Matt went on to sail through to the X Factor finals, eventually winning the contest in 2016, beating Finnish songstress Saara Aalto. He promptly signed a deal with Simon Cowell’s Syco label. After a previous stab at pop stardom in non-successful boyband Far Too Far ended in 2014, Matt decided to quit his day job as a waiter and pursue a solo career. Proof that the advice of "don't give up your day job" can sometimes be proved wrong.
