Brahms Piano Quintet in F minor Op.34
Dvo?ák Piano Quintet in A major Op.81
Since winning the keyboard section of the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition aged just 11, the Essex-born musician Benjamin Grosvenor has developed into the most sought-after piano star of his generation. Here he makes his second appearance at Saffron Hall after his spectacular ‘Dances’ recital last season. Lauded both for his technical mastery and poetic flair, Grosvenor is joined by the equally dynamic Escher Quartet. They perform Dvo?ák’s jolly, folk-like Piano Quintet, and follow it with Brahms’s majestic work for the same forces.
