British Bluegrass music at it's very best.
A band with twenty-two years experience of playing hard driving classic bluegrass music are touring with their finest ever line-up.
Monroe's Revenge is one of the most popular bluegrass bands working in Britain today. They play raw, rootsy, traditional bluegrass, aiming to capture the raw energy of the early pioneers – Bill Monroe, the Stanley Brothers, and Flatt and Scruggs – and apply it to more recent songs. Ballads of bad men and murder, heartache and loneliness, trains, planes and rabbit hunting are interspersed with hard-driving virtuoso instrumentals from fiddle, banjo and mandolin.
Band founder Roger Blackbourn (banjo) is celebrating a quarter of a century of Monroe’s Revenge. The current line-up, considered by many to be the best ever, includes lead singer and guitarist Dave Plane, himself a veteran performer as a solo artist since the 1960s, demon hippy mandolinist Joe Hymas, fiddler Richard Partridge and Dick Embery on double bass.

The Willows are a folk roots band from Cambridge, UK. Regularly compared to the likes of Alison Krauss & Union Station and Laura Marling, their musical style pulls influence from both Americana and UK Folk traditions. Fronted by the stunningly distinctive voice of Jade Ward (formerly Jade Rhiannon), supported by rich vocal harmonies and sensitive acoustic musicianship, The Willows have a distinctively refreshing sound that continues to captivate and inspire audiences everywhere they go.
'They sort of straddle the worlds between Americana and English roots music and do it in a very very deft way’ (Mike Harding Folk Show).
