Dmytro Morykit

Metropolis Live combines Fritz Lang's all-time movie masterpiece with Dmytro Morykit's seminal new piano score performed live in accompaniment; an electrifying work and performance which brings a fabulous emotional charge to this iconic film.

The film was directed in 1927 by Fritz Lang with the script was written by his wife Thea von Harbou. There are several reconstructions of the film and Metropolis Live shows the 2 hour version. It is considered a masterpiece and a pioneering work of science fiction, and was the first film to be inscribed on Unesco's Memory of the World Register.

Dmyto's score comprises many pieces composed over the previous 30 years as well as several new pieces written especially for the film. At the London premiere at Wilton's Music Hall, it sold out and brought the audience to their feet.
