After an acclaimed sell-out reading of his one-man play at the start of 2017, Lemn Sissay returns to the Orange Tree to read poems from across his 30 year career, and take questions from the audience. Lemn is a writer of compassion and insight, and as a live performer he is unmissable.
Lemn Sissay MBE is the author of several books of poetry alongside articles, records, public art, and plays. His latest collection of new and selected poems, Gold from the Stone, was published in 2016. He was an official poet for the London Olympics. His Landmark Poems are installed throughout Manchester and London, in venues such as the Royal Festival Hall and the Olympic Park. Sissay is Associate Artist at Southbank Centre, patron of The Letterbox Club and The Reader Organisation, and inaugural trustee of World Book Night.
