Kew Gardens - Full Of Spice Lates

This exhibition will explore how the journey of spices around the world since the start of the spice trade in the in the 15th Century has shaped our modern world. It will reveal the role these spices have played not only in the communities in which they have originated, but also in the regions where they are now farmed. It will also explore the impact of spices on the daily lives of Kew's visitors and on the multicultural city of London - not only through food and drink, but through music, stories, religions and traditions that have been influenced by hundreds of years of cultural exchange.

Explore the Gardens after work and immerse yourself in the landscape at Kew: through 13 climate controlled zones in the iconic glasshouses to the view from the Tree Top Walkway at dusk. Or simply lie on the grass with a refreshing cocktail and quietly enjoy a summer evening.

The Gardens will be Full of Spice during the Kew Lates as you explore the botanical origins of these mystical commodities. Book a rickshaw ride around the Gardens, devise your own unique blend of spices to take home in the Spice Mix Super Computer 2.0, chat with Kew scientists, listen to live music in the Spice Exchange, or seek out the spice inflatables dotted round the gardens.
