Hope Springs 2: Band Of Hope Welcome Martin Harley

Let's do it again! Band of Hope are delighted to host another get together with you all after what feels far too long. Hope Springs is our attempt to get on a stage with artists we admire and hope some of their brilliance rubs off.

With that in mind it's fantastic that at the warm end of this May we get to welcome the magnificent Martin Harley to do his thing. Virtuoso steel guitarist, singer, songwriter and blues legend, Martin is a very special guest indeed and if you want listen, learn and COUNT THE AWARDS check this out:

As for us? We are still a group of multi-instrumentalists from Oxfordshire and beyond who have all done a stretch in the big house, as we call the Wallingford branch of Lidl. We have recorded a new batch of songs for you all though. Check them out!

We play our own songs, which tend towards the acoustical, pastoral, nautical and dysfunctional. Luckily, considering it's still outlawed, we're not a dancing band. We're a drinking band. We're a crying band. We're your sea salt balm for troubled times.

We are also delighted that Wise Nige has once again agreed to MC for us with his unique blend of questionable humour, local history and long, uncomfortable, pauses.

As we know, things change, but the rules, for now at least, seem to be pretty much the same as they were last time. It's really important that you read them on The Flowing Spring website before you book, and keep checking in case things evolve.

To stay Covid-secure, The seating at The Flowing Spring is arranged and allocated in tables with maximum four seats - as a reminder we've limited each booking to four tickets each. But it's just a reminder. You can still come in 1s, 2s and 3s, and are welcome to buy more via multiple bookings.

Parking is limited - as much as possible try to travel together or get dropped off. If you've got specific needs, call ahead and book a space.

The venue is outside - but covered. There should be fresh air circulating. It's soft underfoot. We would advise against bringing stilettos and/or livestock.

The Flowing Spring will be making every effort to keep audiences safe at their events by sticking to government guidelines. Please be understanding towards Nick, Hazel and the team as they try to make this work. It's a very tricky thing to pull off, but it means we can enjoy live music without worrying.
