Pete Long

This show was largely created by accident when Pete Long was trying to formulate something new. His touring with the 1938 Benny Goodman Carnegie Hall concert, coupled with Georgina's broadcasts of the Peggy Lee songbook with the BBC big band gave the answer - a dedicated Benny Goodman small band show. Peggy Lee's first job was with Benny in the 1940's and she worked with Duke Ellington on the movie Anatomy of a Murder so the show became centred on three show stopping names. You'll hear all the Peggy Lee and Ellington hits, and those unforgettable and exciting Goodman tunes.
