Grooveyard Unplugged
Gareth Lockrane started playing at the age of 10 and discovered jazz at 14 when exploring his Dad’s collection of records. His influences include the great modernists – especially Cannonball Adderley and Miles – but also the great blues rock guitarists – Hendrix, BB King, Buddy Guy.
After graduating from the Royal Academy, he played with a multitude of leading figures in British and world jazz [(including Bheki Mseleku, Tommy Smith and James Taylor) as well as leading his own septet and big band.] But he’s most identified with the great success of Grooveyard, with an organ, tenor, guitar flute-drums lineup. 'But I started to miss the presence of a bass and the freedom and variety that it brings. So a new band was born. We’re reinterpreting many of my older tunes and I’ve also got a batch of knew tunes new line-up'

Alex Garnett - saxophones
