Noughties Themed Christmas Party
"Spinning around at The Broadway
A time machine without the hot tub...
The noughties, a decade where YouTube replaced Top of the Pops, Justin and Britney went from pop royalty to urban ‘contemporary’ and the ‘selfie’ function on a mobile became the biggest thing ever... apparently.
Amongst the array of bright pink velour tracksuits and low-rise trousers that hid nothing, there was a definitive inner ‘high’ that led many of us, that had the privilege to grow up in such a technologically advanced decade, to believe we were a little special; after all we were teenagers of the new millennium.
We had mobiles, Myspace, jobs that paid £3.75 an hour and enough sense to know where to buy a great fake I.D. that accidentally made us 24 at 17.
This is one of four era-themed party events in the run-up to Christmas. In the name of nostalgia, The Broadway wants to bring some of that magic back, and in this case, for one night only you can party like it just stopped being 1999. Dress to impress in your best noughties attire and dance the night away into the early hours of the morning.
Dust off the slogan t-shirts, those cargo trousers that must be worn with a white formal shirt and dance the night away with good friends, a delicious hot buffet (also suitable for vegetarians) and a DJ that takes requests.
Cast yourself back to the decade that brought you The Darkness, 50 Cent, Lady Gaga, Kings of Leon and the Cha-Cha Slide. Slip on those sneaker heels, pull down your black drainpipe jeans and get ready to embrace your inner emo/goth/townie.
Starting at 8.00pm, this event could go on until the sun comes up and for just £30 per head there isn't a better way to celebrate the festive season.
A hot buffet with vegetarian options will be available, as well as free glow sticks and other party favourites."
