The National Youth Training Choir present a dazzling programme of choral 'firsts' including music from Thomas Tallis and William Byrd's Cantiones Sacrae 1575, (the first major printed collection of music in England), James MacMillan's earliest sacred composition, the Missa Brevis (composed at the age of just 17), and the first performance in Perth of the first choral work by Finnish master Jaakko Mäntyjärvi, Three Romantic Ballads.
