Participate in a new and exciting class that will take you step by step to creating individual and personal artworks. We will experiment with water-colours; learning how to mix colours and build colour washes as well as introducing ink to create interesting results. We will develop drawing skills, looking at the fundamentals of scale and perspective whilst practicing observational skills. At the same time we will develop pencil-handling techniques.

Working directly from life you will have the wonderful opportunity to paint outdoors, inspired by the expansive vista over the Channel and the ever changing light and weather, unique seascapes will be created.

To create unique drawings and paintings. Displaying a greater understanding of how to make a balanced composition.

Course objectives:
By the end of the course the students will:
• Have a greater understanding of perspective and how it works in a picture.
• Utilise scale to create depth in a picture.
• Utilise tonal values to create recession in a picture.
• Mix secondary colours from primary colours.
• Mix earth colours from complementary colours.
• Experiment with mixed media to create texture in a picture.
• Utilise a wider range of pencils to create a more varied set of values.
• Use ink to enhance and define an image.
