The Philomusica presents four 20th century English string compositions, beginning with Elgar's Introduction and Allegro, and ending with two of Britten's works for string orchestra. The Serenade will be performed by two outstanding British musicians, including OP's own principal horn, Richard Dilley. 01865 980 980."

The Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra is one of the leading orchestras in the UK. As an orchestra of the highest quality, the Oxford Philharmonic attracts some of the world's greatest artists to appear in its series at Christopher Wren's Sheldonian Theatre, including Sir Andras Schiff, Valery Gergiev, Lang Lang, Maria-Joao Pires, Renee Fleming, Pinchas Zukerman, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Anne-Sophie Mutter and Nigel Kennedy.
