Between The Two

Where is home? Where do we belong when the maps are redrawn? What happens when we have to leave our homeland for a better future?

Onboard a ship, we meet a young woman on her voyage between homes. We see flashbacks to her life in India, where she witnessed the historic events that led to independence, and flashforwards to her future life as she settles in the UK.

A poignant picture of someone caught between two worlds, ethnicities and cultures, this show mixes new writing and music with the letters and diaries of writer and director Daniel Tyler’s Anglo-Indian family. It marks the UK-India Year of Culture.
