The fife is the ideal starter instrument for children between the age of 5 and 10 wanting to learn flute.
Made from plastic, it is small and virtually unbreakable whilst still having a good sound.
This course is aimed at KS1 & 2 children with an interest in music making. It will be lead by Laura Kox (MMus Performance, BA Music Education).
Each session the children will learn to read music, rhythms and of course playing the fife in a fun and engaging way. Sessions will run daily Monday to Friday 10am to 12noon with a parent concert at the end.
The instruments and materials will be provided for free, thanks to funding from the Otley Community Fund and are the children's to keep.
Places are limited and booking will end on Monday 10th February. Pre-booking is necessary.
If there is enough interest after this course to carry on, we shall do our best to try and enable it.
