One of the best loved rock bands of all time, Queen were originally formed in 1968, and went on to achieve huge commercial success - only The Beatles have spent more time in the UK charts. The band split after the tragic death of their iconic frontman Freddie Mercury, and it was only in 2004 that the decision was made to play live as a group again and the band hit the road with Paul Rogers, whose strong voice and experience with other legendary bands (Free, Bad Company) meant that Queen were able to recapture the excitement of their heyday. Queen returned again in 2012, joined by US singer-songwriter Adam Lambert. The band first teamed up with Adam Lambert in 2009 to perform their rock anthem "We Are the Champions" on American Idol's season eight finale. Lambert and Queen partnered again in 2011 at the MTV European Music Awards in Belfast, and have continued to perform with him since.

Mumford & Sons
One of the most successful acts to come out of the first decade of the 21st century's English folk revival, London's Mumford & Sons' agreeable fusion of bluegrass, folk, country, and rock has found favour with audiences all around the world. Formed in 2007 by singer / guitarist / drummer Marcus Mumford, vocalist and banjo / Dobro player Winston Marshall, vocalist / keyboardist Ben Lovett, and vocalist / bassist Ted Dwane, the quartet bonded over their shared love of roots music - their moniker is meant to invoke the impression of an antiquated family business name. At that time the West London folk scene was becoming increasingly vibrant with the arrival of fellow new traditionalists like Laura Marling, Noah and the Whale and Johnny Flynn but Mumford & Sons have gone on to outsell and outshine them all with their success!

As her debut album, Lights, made so thrillingly clear, Ellie Goulding uses her voice as a texture in much the same way that a skilled instrumentalist would. It is a sound – in Ellie's case, an utterly distinctive and unforgettable one – that can play as important a role in her songs as any other musical detail. The BRIT-winning singer/songwriter released Lights in 2010 and followed it up with Halcyon in 2012. Both albums peaked at number one in the UK album chart and went double-platinum. Halcyon was re-released with ten additional tracks as Halcyon Days in 2013. These included How Long Will I Love You?, which became the BBC Children in Need single, and her first number one single, Burn, which has since racked up nearly 160 million views on YouTube. Her 3rd album, 2015's 'Delirium', then spawned the huge worldwide hit 'Love Me Like You Do', which featured on the soundtrack of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie.
