Choir Of The Earth Events is delight to present a unique six-part online lecture series written and delivered via YouTube by award-winning educator Ben England BEM, exploring and explaining the fascinating musical styles and varied genres of Classical Music. Have you ever wondered why opera singers warble? How did the orchestra get so big? Why did instruments suddenly get much louder and more intricate in the 19th century? Why did so many people buy upright pianos? Wonder no more - we will explain all, and much, much more. No singing or musical experience is required, though if you have sung or performed before there will be plenty of material for everyone to appreciate. This is a fun and accessible course, aimed at anyone who is interested in the evolution of music, delivered in Ben’s friendly and inclusive style. Each week, we will explore an era of music, using a wide range of pieces to illustrate and explain the features and characteristics of each style.
Please note: All live stream events are subject to change. Not all events listed are live performances by the artist - they also include archived concerts, DJ sets, masterclasses, Q&As and more.
Choir of the Earth Events offers exciting come-and-sing experiences for choral music lovers of all levels. Our team has led successful tours across the UK and Ireland, including Handel's Messiah in 2022/23 and Mozart's Requiem in 2023/24, as well as a memorable event in Salzburg in 2024. We also host ad hoc events, such as 24-hour singing marathons and performances of Mendelssohn's Elijah and Vivaldi's Gloria. Singers prepare in advance using our world-class learning resources, which include detailed teaching videos by world-renowned and sought-after conductor Ben England that cover every line of each choral movement, and rehearsal tracks professionally recorded for each vocal part. These resources allow singers to thoroughly learn the music and become familiar with Ben’s conducting style. On the event day, participants join choral masterclasses and rehearsals, culminating in a spectacular evening performance conducted by Ben. This preparation builds confidence, making each performance vibrant and unforgettable. Whether you're a seasoned singer or new to the format, Choir of the Earth Events guarantees an inspiring and welcoming experience.
