Grayshott Folk Club Introduces:

Honey & The Bear + Special Guests.

British folk and roots duo, Honey & the Bear, combine delicately interweaving vocal harmonies with emotive and evocative songwriting. With a diverse range of sounds and textures, and rhythms that flow from the fast and furious to gentle ballads, their live performances are spirited and dynamic.

Conjuring stories in song, they tell tales of Suffolk folklore, courage, passion and heartbreak. The multi-instrumentalist pair, are songwriters Jon Hart (guitar, bass, bazouki) and Lucy Hart (guitar, ukulele, bass, banjo, mandolin & percussion) They have been writing and performing together since 2014. Since then, they have played at many revered venues and festivals across the UK as well as travelling across the channel for their first European tour.

2019 saw the release of their first full studio album ‘Made In The Aker’ .

2020 was shaping up to be their big breakthrough year but everything stopped in its tracks in March 2020. Undeterred, Honey & The Bear set about entertaining their fans online and their following increased while live music events have been put on hold.

Honey & The Bear played at Beardy Folk Festival, which was one of the only live Festivals to actually happen in 2020 but spent most of their lock down time, putting together their superb second album, entitled:
"Through The Roke"

Now they are back out on the road, with a young Bear cub (Gracie) in tow and some brilliant musician friends will be joining them at Grayshott; Toby Shaer is one of Folk music's finest young multi-instrumentalists (Flutes, Whistles, Fiddle, Cittern etc.,) and Evan Carson is a percussion maestro.

We will be delighted to finally welcome them all to Grayshott Folk Club and to hear their joyous and uplifting sounds.
