The National Youth Chamber Choir

The first visit to Nottingham of this superb vocal ensemble brings an atmospheric mix of Nordic choral works. The Fellowship Octet is a brand new ensemble comprised of eight of the most experienced singers in the National Youth Chamber Choir of Great Britain.

The programme begins with Sibelius's tender and intimate work in three movements, Rakastava (The Beloved), before Carl Nielsen's Three Motets, a study of renaissance polyphony in the style of Palestrina. Contemporary Danish composer Per Norgard's I Hear the Rain written for choir and percussion follows before Anders Edenroth's witty a capella piece on the nature of Words.
