To kick of the first live gig of 2016, Hot Damn heads to Open with a funk and soul show with a twist!

Roll up, Roll up the circus is coming to the fine city and it is bringing a whole lotta’ funk with it!

Jugglers, Magicians, Stilt Walkers and more plus Primo Nelson, will be taking over Open Clubroom and Under The Bridge with their brand of original, hard hitting, funk inspired, groove movement of heavy horns, ripping riffs through a thumping funk core, husky tones and so much more.

Joining them on the night will be a very special guest DJ to be announced, plus Hot Damn! DJ’s who will take you on a dancing journey through funk to soul to latin and more!

Primo Nelson originally formed in 2003 under the name ‘Big Dogg’ and over the years they have gradually evolved into their present incarnation. They released their 1st album in 2013 ‘4 Funk Sake’ and they are about to release their 2nd album this March ‘Future Tourist’.

Primo have gained lots of radio play including BBC Radio 6 Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show, Popcorner RAI2 (Italian national radio) and BBC Introducing Essex and Suffolk, local radio stations around the country also playing out various singles plus gaining spins at The South London Soul Train. On stage they have supported Craig Charles at The Jazz Café and also Ria Currie’s (Speedometer) Tongue and Groove nights.

On top of all of this they host their very own Funk and Soul Circus themed shows to sell out crowds at Chinnery’s, Southend.
