Shakespeare And All That Jazz

'Shakespeare and All That Jazz'

In this, 400th anniversary year of Shakespeare's death, multi-award winning vocalist Jacqui Dankworth visits the musical settings of Shakespeare's poetry, inspired by and taken from the seminal album Shakespeare and All That Jazz, composed by her late father Sir John Dankworth.

Including Settings such as 'Shall I Compare Thee To A Summer's Day', 'O Mistress Mine', 'Fear No More The Heat O' The Sun', the story of Macbeth and a comical setting of Shakespeare's complete works!

The brilliance of the music, the genius of Shakespeare's poetry and world class musicianship, combined with Jacqui's emotional and virtuosic voice make for a unique concert.

Not since the 1980s when Cleo Laine recorded the album "Wordsongs" , and Jacqui performed material from 'Shakespeare and All That Jazz' for Sam Wanamaker to help raise money prior to the opening of Globe Theatre, has this music been recorded or performed live - but in this 400th year anniversary, what could be a more appropriate time for this very special collection music to be brought back to life.
