The Ciderhouse Rebellion characterises virtuosic in-the-moment music from the originators of improvised folk. They are currently touring their new album ‘And Even the Sheep Shall Dance’.
Described by The Strad as "Free-flowing, ambitious and fiercely creative", every The Ciderhouse Rebellion performance is uniquely magical, whether springing from a single unplanned note or a trad tune. Masters of improvisation, the duo is fiddle player Adam Summerhayes ("Paganini of the traditional violin.” fRoots) and master accordionist Murray Grainger.
They were winners of the Instrumental Album 2022 by Fatea and have been described as "Compelling, exciting and utterly original" by Phil Beer (Show of Hands).
"I could almost feel a super power between the two of them” - MusoMuso
"Gorgeous stuff" – BBC Radio 3
"Beautiful" – Songlines
