Music Futures Network: Crowdfunding
2012 was the year that crowdfunding was kickstarted into the mainstream, making it a viable option for raising finance to launch projects particularly in the creative industries. At this special networking event delivered by Generator, we will hear firsthand accounts from individuals who have successfully launched albums, films and games by embracing crowdfunding platforms.
The guest speakers will discuss what went right and wrong in their campaign. What they’d do differently next time, if indeed if they would they do it all again.
*Why choose the crowdfunding model rather than go down more traditional routes?
*Aside from the financial benefits, what are the other positive outcomes? Additional press? Greater creative control?
*Setting achievable goals and offering attractive rewards
*Is the crowdfunding route for everyone? Or do you need a certain profile first?
*How to keep fans engaged throughout campaign
*So you’ve reached your goal, what’s next?
*What are the potential pitfalls/negatives?
Confirmed speakers:
*Tom Williams, Tom Williams & The Boat
