Peter J. Evans: Across Islands, Divides

Artist Peter J. Evans (born Oxford, 1976) lives and works in Newcastle upon Tyne. He works across drawing, sculpture, installation, performance and sound. Across islands, divides is an exhibition of new and recent works that explore ideas of finite truth in an infinitely changeable universe and attempt to make sense of ungraspable realities.

A number of Evans’ process-based drawings are presented, many comprising complex structures of lines built-up over a period of years. Alongside these are several new works, including a two-part print edition, a unique projection technique for a super8 film and Broken Telephone, a sound work featuring Laura Cannell, Rhodri Davies and Mark Fell, comprised of sixteen tracks to be released as four 12” records.
