Big Mouth Comedy Club Christmas Special: Christian Reilly, Daliso Chaponda, Danny Deegan, Mike Wilkinson
"It's Christmas!!!! The first of our two Christmas Specials - and it's the perfect way to kick start the festivities! MC tonight is the fantastic Mike Wilkinson - one of our absolute faves. Charming, dry as a bone humour that will have you crying with laughter.
Britain’s Got Talent and Amanda Holden’s golden buzzer act comedian Daliso Chaponda was a stand out star from 2017’s show, capturing the nation's hearts and garnering over 8 million Facebook views and 9 million on Youtube. He stormed the Town Hall on his tour "What The African Said" back in June and we can't wait to welcome him back.
Christian Reilly has long been a favourite act at Big Mouth. His ‘Lolalternative rock' musical comedy is always a fantastic crowd pleaser and he's the perfect co-headliner for this Christmas Special. Sharp-eyed comedy fans will already know and love Christian Reilly for his award winning and downright hilarious work with both Rich Hall and Bill Bailey.
Danny Deegan has made numerous TV and radio appearances since he started performing, and is also a regular at many of the UK’s biggest comedy clubs; performing to crowds ranging from thousands of bikers in a huge marquee, main stages at music festivals, and middle class arts centres in provincial towns, with everyone completely charmed by Danny’s charm and wit.

Now a solo headline act all over the globe, Christian uses his improvisations, sharp wit, youthful energy, guitar skills and vocal mimicry to target histrionic rock bands, musical theatre and morose indie musicians with his charming onstage confidence machine-gunning impossibly catchy tunes with hysterical lyrical content. His solo Edinburgh Festival Show, ‘Lost In Music’ was sold out, critically acclaimed and was the winner of the 'Spirit Of The Fringe' Award.
In 1999 Christian started playing guitar and singing for the American comic polymath Rich Hall. High points included winning the Perrier Award in 2001 for "Rich Hall is Otis Lee Crenshaw", being on subsequent CD and DVD releases, seeing the world, appearing on stage with Seinfeld star Michael Richards and getting on Late Night with Conan O' Brien.
He was a regular on a BBC radio show with the Richard Herring, called That Was Then, This Is Now that was critically acclaimed
and lasted for 3 series. This led to a key role in Herring’s groundbreaking podcast, As It Occurs To Me which ran for three years and won a Chortle award for best internet comedy and appearances on Radio 2’s ‘Jammin’.
'So much biblical gusto and zest it is impossible not to be possessed by his optimistic persona' (Broadway Baby).
'If you’re a fan of Bill Bailey or Rich Hall, you’re probably a Christian Reilly fan already' (The Guardian).

Daliso is a versatile African comedian equally comfortable talking politics, romance, filth or religion. As such, he has performed in such diverse venues as churches, casinos, strip clubs and sports bars and was a finalist on Britain's Got Talent 2017. He has lived in countries where the press is not allowed to criticize the government, and in others with no libel laws where they can say anything. He has been both a journalist and a jaded newsreader.
Daliso has appeared at many festivals that have included Melbourne, Edinburgh, Singapore and Cape Town Festivals. He is also a prolific fiction writer and has had his science fiction, murder mysteries and fantasy fiction published in numerous magazines and anthologies. He also co-wrote a play that aired on BBC Radio 4.
'Full of extravagant gestures and impassioned speeches. He inspires whoops and cheers from his watchers. Highly recommended' (BBC)
'A joy to listen to. Provocative, poignant and ultimately hilarious' (The Guardian)
'I laughed so much I thought I'd pass out!' (The List)
'It takes a special kind of act to work on both sides of the Atlantic (as well as across Africa), but it seems an easy transition as he compels the crowd with his racial and socially insightful comedy' (News and Star, Carlisle)
'Absolutely [took] the roof off the place. Brilliant, brilliant act' (The Frog and Bucket).
Daliso Chaponda was #9 in Ents24's Hardest Working Comedians of 2018 list.

Razor sharp Mancunian with a shed load of brutally funny anecdotes about his much put-upon friend 'Rudgie'. Plus wicked witticisms that belie his fresh-faced boy band demeanour. Not even bovver boys 'Five' got this near-to-the-knuckle. Runner-up in the City Life Comedian of the year 2003 and fresh from a sold-out, critically acclaimed solo show at the Manchester Comedy Festival.
'His seamless interactions with the crowd demonstrate that he's a natural-born comedian... appealing to both the young and old, female and male' (Three Weeks).

Full to the brim with down to earth Northern charm, Mike takes a bemused glance at the world and then throws it a smile. The laughs come thick and fast with Wilkinson's dry humour and razor sharp wit.
Mike's been a professional comic for 7 years and in that time he has supported the likes of Peter Kay, Johnny Vegas and Ross Noble, as well as headlining clubs all over the country. Mike has a laid back style onstage, but can crush a heckler in seconds. Mike is also an accomplished pianist and guitarist!
