Canadian outfit from Montreal whose cerebral post-rock doesn't so much form songs as create an all-engulfing mood that threatens to hold unsuspecting audiences hostage. The band is perhaps best known for their lengthy instrumental songs and large membership. With nine semi-permanent members, they create prolonged tracks which utilise short movements, wide volume changes, and numerous recorded and sampled sounds.

Liars is a three-piece American band consisting of Australian-born Angus Andrew (vocals/guitar), Aaron Hemphill (percussion, guitar, synth) and Julian Gross (drums). Although initially lumped into the New York post-punk revival scene, Liars have come to be categorised by their dramatic stylistic shifts between albums, while retaining a consistent interest in rhythm and sound texture.

Ben Frost is an Australian composer and producer who is based in Reykjavík, Iceland. Frost composes minimalist, instrumental and experimental music.
His albums, including Steel Wound (2003), Theory of Machines (2007) and By The Throat (2009) fuse intensely structured sound art with militant post-classical electronic music, shape-shifting physical power with immersive melody, concentrated minimalism with fierce, rupturing dark metal.

Stockholm-born, Berlin-based, The Field a.k.a. Axel Willner sprung into existence in 2003. His track ‘Love vs. Distance’ provided an early demonstration of how the Swede could take just four bars of sound and deftly deconstruct, alter and rebuild them to create a constantly changing canvas.
Axel Willner also produces music under the pseudonyms Cordouan, James Larsson, Lars Blek, Loops of Your Heart, Porte and Hands.

Demdike Stare is a project from Miles Whittaker and Sean Canty. Miles is probably better known as Modern Love's DJ MLZ or as 0.5 of Pendle Coven. Sean Canty is the dedicated digger behind the Haxan events and a member of the hugely respected Finders Keepers crew of vinyl vultures. Their collaborative project tracks the sonic leylines of cult soundtracks, Arabesque dubs and psychotomimetic ephemera with a proper Lancastrian twist...

Music and animation duo whose work encompasses pop, techno, the avant-garde and Looney Tunes. Dan Hayhurst provides tape looped sonic squiggle, Reuben Sutherland initiates stop-motion zoetrope projection of lysergic chaos. This is one of the most psychedelic experiences it is possible to have without chemicals, an audio-visual trip from kitsch to cosmos.
