Track And Field: Just Some Theatre Company
Track And Field is a comedy in 2 acts. Originally written by Ohio-based playwright Kevin Barry, it has been adapted by Just Some Theatre Company for production in the UK, directed by Peter Stone.
The play follows a theatre professor (Jake Urry) and his questionable new passion for a female student athlete (Amy Pryce). The professor's sarcastic and scornful partner (Laura Lattimore) questions his literary and personal judgement throughout, and the young runner's boyfriend and wanna-be actor (Daniel Petts) is the object of the professor's distaste.
But everything is not as it seems, as Track And Field challenges some of the most basic theatrical conventions, ignoring the fourth wall and re-arranging literary structure to produce an engaging, exciting and humorous story, perfectly timed to coincide with the London Olympics.
