Flesh
Almost a century ago women over thirty achieved the right to vote. Ninety eight years later, we question how far we have really come.
The quest for equality is far from over and as the days pass it seems mankind is shrinking inward. What is all this fear for? Who faces it's sharpest brunt?
Through poetry, movement and music: Flesh tells the story of Emily (Grace Stubbs); a confused twenty something, trapped in her mind in her dank flat; as she strives to establish a relationship with food, her body and her front door. This is a play that winds deep inside the heart of the much ignored, all consumed body based propaganda residing at the heart of our nation and the effects it has on our unknowingly vulnerable.
Each showing of Flesh, the second production from Hysteria, will begin with a candlelit musical set with Jack Hart and James Monk, the creators of the musical score for the play.
