Orlando Weeks

The Deaf Institute, Manchester
Passed

This event has been and gone.

Orlando Weeks is proud to present a run of very intimate performances in the UK this September to mark the start of a new project. Weeks will be performing new solo material, which will be released as an album next year. The tour marks the first time Orlando will perform these songs live with a band.

The shows are an opportunity to hear this new music first, live and in an intimate setting exclusively, ahead of any recorded music being released.

Orlando Weeks appearing at this event

Not long after The Maccabees split, frontman Orlando Weeks announced his return with a new hardback book and accompanying soundtrack album. Although best known for music, Weeks was first drawn to art. He studied Fine Arts at the Camberwell College of Arts before pursuing a degree in Illustration at the University of Brighton. Weeks rediscovered his passion for illustration and storytelling during downtime as The Maccabees toured in support of their chart-topping final album ‘Marks To Prove It’. When the band disbanded, Weeks’ three creative endeavours (songwriting, storytelling and illustration) converged as he developed the story of The Gritterman.
