Manchester-based writer/DJ Dave Haslam interviews Mike Joyce. Manchester-born drummer, Mike Joyce has the inside story of the iconic band the Smiths; he joined the Smiths in 1982 and stayed with them through worldwide tours and four studio albums, from playing tiny gigs around to Manchester until their demise in 1987.
Subsequently, Mike played on two hit singles with Morrissey as a solo artist (‘The Last of the Famous International Playboys’ and ‘Interesting Drug’). He’s since played and toured with the like of Buzzcocks, Julian Cope, and Public Image Limited. He’s also established himself as both a radio presenter, and a club DJ.
