Never miss another 'Jim Moray' show
Jim Moray + The Skulk Ensemble + Blair Dunlop
Two of the finest jazz pianists come together for a special concert teaming the structure and texture of classical music with the improvisation of jazz, including work from Steve Reich and Philip Glass - two of the founding fathers of minimalist music - classical and jazz composer Patrick Zimmerli, as well as the duo's own compositions.
Jim Moray is one of the most consistently inventive musicians working in traditional folk music today. After four ground-breaking albums, and numerous awards, he now finds himself at the forefront of a new folk revival in the UK, and hailed as a pivotal influence by a new generation of folk musicians while still only being in his 20s himself.

Blair Dunlop, the award-winning British singer, songwriter and guitarist, released two EPs in his teens and became a regular at folk festivals in both Britain and abroad. His debut album ‘Blight & Blossom’ established him as an artist with a promising career ahead and led to him receiving both critical acclaim and the Horizon Award at the 2013 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
His follow up album, 2014’s ‘House of Jacks’, lived up to that promise and cemented his place as one of Britain’s most exciting talents to come from the folk scene. The Guardian stated that the album proves Blair is ‘an increasingly adventurous songwriter’, Uncut reviewed it as ‘thoughtful and exploratory’, The Independent on Sunday described it as ‘fluent, lamentory and accomplished’ and Q Magazine simply wrote that House of Jacks is ‘an exciting glimpse of where traditional folk might go’.
