Il Ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria (The Return of Ulysses)
A performance of Claudio Monteverdi's opera sung in Italian with English surtitles.
Written in 1640 and based on a story from Homer's Odyssey, The Return Of Ulysses is typical of Monteverdi's finest operas, with a moralising prologue and a score packed with virtuosic writing.
