The Strypes + Raglans + The Shimmer Band + The Turning
Having recently supported Arctic Monkeys on their autumn trek, rising Irish four-piece bluesy rock band, The Strypes, have announced dates for their debut headline UK headline tour in February 2014.
This event takes place at Manchester Academy, which has achieved Silver Status for disabled access from Attitude Is Everything.
Young upstarts The Strypes are a four piece rhythm and blues band hailing from Cavan, Ireland, formed in 2011 by Ross Farrelly (lead vocals/harmonica), Josh McClorey (lead guitar/vocals), Pete O'Hanlon (bass guitar/harmonica) and Evan Walsh (drums).
The group viciously hammer out no-nonsense blues influenced by the likes of Dr. Feelgood, Chuck Berry, The Yardbirds, The Rolling Stones, Little Walter and Bo Diddley. They have picked up some famous fans, with the likes of Jeff Beck, Paul Weller, Noel Gallagher, Dave Grohl, Roger Daltrey and Miles Kane all expressing their love of the band.

Formed in a festival tent in 2010 Dublin based 4 piece band Raglans launched the same year. Raglans blaze a trail of muscular new wave guitars, gritty pop melodies and uplifting indie folk arrangements that hops, skips and jumps with a skill and confidence far beyond their short lifespan and brought them The King Kong Club crown late in 2011, the prize, a recording session with Morrissey’s co- writer/arranger/guitarist Boz Boorer in his Sierra Alta studio.
Raglans are Stephen Kelly (lead vocals, guitar, banjo, mandolin), Ros Horan (bass, backing vocals),
Conn ORunaidh (drums, backing vocals) and Liam Morrow (lead guitar, mandolin, backing vocals).
