Never miss another 'Rob Deering' show
XS Malarkey Double Headliner: Rob Deering, The Boy With Tape On His Face, Toby Hadoke
Please note that the artists appearing may be subject to change.
Rob Deering performs stand-up comedy with music, using a guitar, a loop pedal and his voice to create impressive rock and pop soundscapes – and do jokes, of course.
Along with being one of the most in-demand headliners on the UK circuit, he’s toured nationally and performed solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe many times since starting out in comedy in the year 2000. His late-night, live-music pop quiz Beat This is a festival institution.
Winner of the Amused Moose Award 2001.
'With his easy charm, chessy singing voice, razor-sharp wit and clownish physicality Rob has quickly established himself as a firm favourite on the comedy circuit around Britain' (Pontardawe Arts Centre0
'Truly wonderful stand-up' (The Sunday Times).
'As sharp and versatile as a Swiss Army Knife' (The Independent).
'Bruisingly hilarious... brilliant musical comedian' (Time Out).

Tape Face accesses the inner child in everyone. Through simple, clever and charming humour, he has created one of the most accessible and enjoyable shows the world has ever seen.
Drawing on a heritage that includes silent film, mime, magic, puppetry, Motown and the films of Patrick Swayze, he is a pensive, curious soul approaching every object and audience member as a potential friend – or plaything.
Since Tape Face’s ‘birth’ his shows have sold out around the world during which time he has become a critically acclaimed silent sensation with Simon Cowell comparing him to a modern Charlie Chaplin.
Award-winning Chaplinesque New Zealander who has been compared to Buster Keaton, Harpo Marx and Mr Bean..
'The Boy With Tape on His Face is utterly spectacular! Endlessly inventive, hysterically funny. Fight for a ticket' (Time Out).
'A truly magical experience' (http://www.chortle.co.uk)
'Wills makes a big noise by saying nothing at all' (The Evening Standard)
'Everyone should see The Boy with Tape on His Face' (The Daily Telegraph).

'Toby is an actor, writer and comedian, who has a stupid name that no-one can pronounce or spell. He was born in a small cottage in Ludlow, Shropshire at the turn of the century, and even as a baby, sported a rather manly collection of facial hair.'
Manchester comedy Legend and host of XS Malarkey. Toby was the inaugural winner of The Les Dawson Award, beating a shortlist including Peter Kay, Daniel Kitson, Dave Spikey, Ken Dodd, Caroline Ahearne, Craig Cash and Steve Coogan. He works regularly in TV and Radio having appeared in shows ranging from Coronation Street to Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights.
'Superior stand-up skills – very, very funny' (The Guardian)
'A comedy genius' (Metro).
